Ideal to keep your horse snug and warm in the coolest of weather. Unlike, others our canvas horse rugs are made from 100% Cotton to provide good breathability & strength (Many manufactures have switched to polyester canvas to save costs).
Featuring a kersey wool lining, gussets at the shoulders for freedom of movement, double chest fittings, rump darts and adjustable/removable leg straps - these are one of the best canvas rugs available.
You will also notice that we use a generous drop compared to our competitors. We specifically manufacture the fabric in wider rolls - which allows us to deliver generous drops even in the bigger sizes (as an example size 6'0 has a generous 106cm drop up to 7’0 with a 115cm drop.). Our Canvas rugs feature the same drop that we use on our synthetic turnouts, to insure that any under rugs are protected from the weather.

We use a high quality wool lining, not cheap synthetic felts. Our linings don't need to be as thick as a felt lining to give the same insulation, our linings are thinner and lighter. Once your canvas becomes water logged, a felt lining will draw the the moisture through the canvas like a sponge. A wool lining will hold the moisture at bay much longer.

Our canvas is proofed via an immersion treatment. (not wax coated) and generally delivers improved performance compared to the wax coated canvas. We quote our canvas rugs as being Showerproof. In our mind to call a rug waterproof, it has to be able to withstand extended or heavy wet weather and still keep your horses dry. (something our synthetic rugs and combos do very well) Any Canvas slowly absorbs the water over time, getting heavier, until it breaches the underside of the canvas. Water will also enter via stitching seams, over time this reduces as the stitching threads will expand and general grit will tend to seal the stitching along seams, however there is always risk of water entry, especially in initial use. We see many retailers advertising their wax coated rugs as 100% waterproof - which is misleading.
