Combo horse rugs provide continuous one-piece coverage over the body and neck. Detach-a-neck horse rugs offer flexibility with removable neck sections for changing weather. Hooded horse rugs come with a separate hood to cover the head and neck, ideal for fly or sun protection around sensitive areas like the ears and forelock.

Rubs are often caused by poor fit, excess movement or a dirty lining. Make sure the rug fits well across the shoulders and chest, sits straight along the back and stays clean. Always use cold water and avoid hot washes or tumble drying, as heat can damage waterproof membranes and bindings. For most rugs types, hand washing or a gentle hose-down is best. Brush off dirt and hair between washes, and make sure rugs are completely dry before storing to prevent mould and extend their life.
